Help, I'm sinking

Help, I'm sinking

"Once again we see that while the rich get richer the poor get poorer, and every policy direction this government is taking is designed to increase that gap, despite income inequity having been identified as one of the greatest economic crises facing the world today.
This suggests that some refocusing of the debate is required away from those at the very top of the income distribution towards those at the very bottom.  The Australian Social Inclusion Board estimates (using a variety of indicators) that 5 per cent (around 640,000 people) of Australians aged between 18 and 64 have multiple disadvantages. A greater focus on understanding and tackling multiple and entrenched disadvantage is critical in terms of improving overall wellbeing in Australia
It appears to me that that the rising tide of bullshit is designed to trickle down by pissing on the poor."

Hockey rattles the Corporate Sector

Hockey rattles the Corporate Sector

"You may have noticed a change in the rhetoric now being delivered by our treasurer since he took over. One could say he has seen the state of the books, he has looked at the forward projections and in an arresting moment, after first thinking the roof had fallen in, he has realised Labor’s supervision of the economy had not created a budget emergency, rather, they were skilfully managing a full-scale world monetary meltdown in recovery. His G20 speech contained all the words you would expect from the man who had just been given the keys to the safe, who now knows how much is there, how little is coming in and how much of what is going out cannot be stopped. He also knows the cost of the promises his boss made at the last election. It is not pretty and Joe knows that rather than his boss being the one to carry the can, it is he and he alone who will cop the blame if the spaghetti hits the fan. For all his blustering and bellowing prior to the election, the raw truth has now hit home and he has nowhere to hide."

MP says Prime Minister and Treasurer lied about SPC

MP says Prime Minister and Treasurer lied about SPC

A Liberal backbencher has accused Prime Minister Tony
Abbott and Treasurer Joe Hockey of lying about union conditions at SPC
Ardmona.
Sharman Stone, the Member for Murray, says the Federal
Government is using excuses that are "wrong" to justify the decision to
reject a bid from the northern Victorian food processor for $25 million
in assistance.

Union conditions of workers have come under fire from the Government for being too extravagant, with pay well above the award.

Dr Stone says the leaders of her party are deceiving the public debate.

"It's not the truth. That's right, it's lying," she said.
Joe Hockey  "Destroy Australia" wish list.

Treasurer Joe Hockey says 'age of personal responsibility has begun'

Treasurer Joe Hockey says 'age of personal responsibility has begun'

During his ABC interview, Mr Hockey declared that everyone in
Australia ''must do the heavy lifting now''. If enterprise agreements
fail - as in the case of SPC - the parties involved should not come to
the government ''asking for other taxpayers' money'', he said.

''The age of entitlement is over. The age of personal responsibility has begun,'' he said.

Labor agriculture spokesman Joel Fitzgibbon said Mr Joyce's position on drought was ''confused and chaotic''.

''As the drought grows worse, farming families are
understandably frustrated by the mixed messages and tin ears in
Canberra,'' he said in a statement.

Mr Fitzgibbon also said that given the federal government's
''callous disregard for jobs at Holden, SPC or Qantas, Australian
farmers won't be holding their breath for support from this
government''.

"We will decide what rights you have, and the circumstances under which you have them."

"We will decide what rights you have, and the circumstances under which you have them."

But what exactly does he mean by the “age of entitlement”? In the
lead-up to the election, Hockey used to refer to what he called “middle
class welfare”. And, of course, those people on the dole need to forget
any ideas of entitlement.

So, basically the Government’s subtext seems to be: We don’t owe you anything – get over it!

And in the debates about company bail-outs, middle-class welfare and
work-for-the-dole schemes that message might be lost. Yes, we’ve been
told over and over again how the Liberals believe in “small government”
but like so many words that are used we often overlook their actual
meaning. Does small government mean reducing the number of MPs or
reducing their staff and entitlements? Of course not, just the number of
public servants, because public servants are just a burden. You want to
speak to a public servant? The Age of Entitlement is over! I mean, trying ringing Centrelink, they don’t even answer the phone, so who’s going to notice that there are less?

But let’s just remind ourselves of what words mean because, as I said
before, when we hear them over and over they can lose their meaning.

JOE DUD TREASURER HOCKEY AND HIS MANTRA : THE END OF THE AGE OF ENTITLEMENT

Joe Hockey simply forgets that WE ARE ENTITLED to a good government that is truly representing us and our needs.
A Government with empathy and compassion. NOT A FASCIST GOVERNMENT.
